In the early 2000s, original Sonic manga publishers Shogakukan created a new series starring Sonic and his friends in a string of adventures battling Doctor Eggman. These stories were eventually collected in two volumes along with some bonus content.

The series was much more comedic in tone than most adaptations of the Sonic series, with Sonic and his friends usually getting into silly scrapes in classic gag manga style. Eggman in particular leans into a silliness not seen as frequently in the Sonic video games of the time, which is an almost refreshing reminder of what used to be.

Despite the series being reasonably well known online, an official English translation has never surfaced. Furthermore, even fan translations are somewhat tricky to come by, making Dash & Spin something of an oddity, though one at least better preserved online than its older brother from Sonic’s early days.

The 2003 and 2004 dates are, unfortunately, an estimate based on the 2003 and 2005 release of the collected volumes. Any titles listed below are based on fan translations as no official English titles exist.
