Sonic the Hedgehog’s online presence is gargantuan, something which likely comes as no surprise to anyone reading this page. Sega themselves have long maintained an official presence for the franchise as well, including an official YouTube channel which regularly provides updates and news for enthusiasts of the world’s most famous hedgehog.

Starting in 2014, Sega also began releasing official Sonic the Hedgehog shorts, primarily animated cartoons, to advertise upcoming games or sometimes just for the entertainment of the fans. These are quite often, though not always, more light-hearted in nature.

The official Sonic shorts primarily take place in the same universe as the video games. However, owing to the fact this does not apply to all of them, we have elected to give them their own page here to treat them as a spin-off continuity.
